Nope, found out with pretty solid certainty we were being taken advantage of. Spoke with 3 loan officers since making this post, one told me their closing costs are $1900 cheaper AND the rate they can lock in is 5.49%.

I think you should definitely shop around to your local credit unions and see if they have more competitive rates. They are slower to raise and slower to drop (so I've been told) and we just locked in yesterday at 5.99% after earlier this week being quoted 6.5% due to the market.

I just got locked in at 5.625 recently as well and was very pleased about it. We had got an offer accepted a few years ago (backed out due to foundation issues, right choice but was tough) and had a rate 7.0, so 5.625 was a nice surprise lol

I would say try to refi with 0 closing costs. Ask your lender. I just did it from 6.65 to 6.125 while Rates were at 5.5ish.
